01. Can I use your flagstones outside?

Yes, our whole range of flagstones can be used outside, but ideally our External flagstones at 45mm thick are the most durable option

02. Can underfloor heating be used with your flagstone flooring?

Yes. All of our internal range of stone flooring is ideal for use with underfloor heating. However, the following points must be followed:

  1. It is important that your flagstones have been cured for a full 28 days prior installation
  2. If your flagstones have been stored in a cold room or outbuilding, bring them indoors 24 hours prior to laying them, to bring them up to the same temperature as the room in which they’re being installed.

03. What thickness are your flagstones?

Our interior flagstone range are a nominal 25mm thick (+/-2mm). Ideal for use with underfloor heating systems. Our exterior flagstone range are 45mm thick (+/-2mm).

04. Do you deliver?

Yes of course, we can arrange a nationwide UK delivery service as well as delivery to Europe and Worldwide. The cost of delivery will depend on the size of your order and your geographical area.

05. How long is your order time?

This depends on our current stock levels. We usually carry some stock but most of our flagstones are specially Made To Order – orders are usually ready for delivery in 2 weeks. However, during busy periods, we can require up to 6 weeks. Please contact us if you have any specific requirements.

06. Is there a minimum order quantity / value?

No, there is no minimum order quantity. However we normally ship flagstones on a pallet which can carry 10m2. To get the best value for money on delivery cotsts, we advise a mininum order of 10m2. Orders placed directly on this website are sold as 10m2 pallets. For other quantities and/or combinations of size and colour, please contact us directly.

07. How much additional coverage should I order to cover breakages / unforeseen circumstances?

We advise you to add 10% to the overall area of your flagstone flooring project for cuts and wastage. This is generally very accurate.

08. Do I need to seal the flagstones?

Yes, definitely. For internal floors, matt or satin sealer can be applied – we then recommend applying wax after sealing, High-traffic areas may have to be re-waxed every 12 months or so.

We recommend that external flagstones are sealed with matt sealer.

09. How do you maintain and clean flagstone flooring?

Very easily. When cleaning flagstones it is very important to make sure you use a cleaning product compatible with the sealant. Failure to do this can result in the incorrect cleaning product stripping off the sealant. All our sealants have a flagstone cleaning product which is compatible.

10. Can you polish flagstones?

Yes, you can polish flagstones with a stone wax. Just an ordinary stone wax or antique stone wax will work well.

11. Can you recommend a fitter / builder to install my flagstones?

We do not keep a list of fitters but a good place to ask is your local tile shop. They usually keep a list of reputable fitters.

12. How do I replace a broken flagstone in my existing flooring?

If you have a broken flagstone, the best way to remove it, is to work from the middle of the flagstone out to the edges. If you try and prise the flagstone up from the edge there is a danger you will break the edge of the adjacent flagstone.

13. Are you able to colour match flagstones to my existing floor?

We can do our very best to colour match you existing flagstones. If you either send some pictures or supply us with a sample, we can let you know if we can match it or not.

14. Are your flagstones sustainable?

Absolutely! Most of the the ingredients (the sand and gravel) in our flagstones are recycled. The remainder is cement (maximum 15%). Farmhouse Flagstones are fully recyclable at the end of life. You can read more about our sustainability policy here.

15. How long will Farmhouse Flagstones last?

Our flagstones will provide many, many years of use. Flagstones installed internally should last at least 50-100 years. External flagstones should last a similar time, depending on traffic and location (external flagstones should be installed in a way that is free draining).
